Ym Mhontypridd Mae 'Nghariad
(My Love is in Pontypridd)
This beautiful love song, set in the Dorian mode, is mentioned in sources dating from 1858, but its origins are probably much earlier.
Sonnir am y gân serch hyfryd hon, a osodwyd yn y modd Doriaidd, mewn ffynonellau sy'n dyddio o 1858, ond mae'n debyg bod ei gwreiddiau lawer yn gynharach.
I lived in Pontypridd for 9 happy years before moving to France, so this song has always held a special place in my heart. The version here is suitable for more-experienced classical or fingerstyle guitar players.
