Recorded by Frank Sinatra. Edited by Rob DuBoff and Jeffrey Sultanof. Arranged by Billy May. Jazz Vocal. Swing. Full score and set of parts. Published by Jazz Lines Publications (JL.JLP-9339).This Billy May arrangement comes from the Frank Sinatra album Come Swing with Me (1961). All of the charts on this album were written to take advantage of stereophonic sound and featured 4 trumpets and 4 trombones in both left and right channels (16 separate parts) plus 4 French horns. We have adapted this for a standard big band and included optional saxophone parts that may be used in place of the horns. This is a really nice - and not too difficult - swing chart on the Sy Oliver standard featuring call and response between sections. Also showcased are the horns during the chorale-like introduction. The harp and chimes parts are cued in the piano part in the event that these instruments are not available. The sound sample is a midi file that includes the saxophone parts in lieu of the horns - the original is readily available on the Come Swing with Me album. Ranges: Trumpet 1: Eb6 (optional G6); Trumpet 2: C6; All Trombones: C5.
