very good studies for 3rd position
getting this Wohlfahrt book 2 to supplement the abcs of violin method books 3, 4, and 5 is really ideal if you want a solid foundation starting from scratch and moving on to 3rd position. I highly recommend it for children and adults alike. same for viola students, but use abcs of viola bk 3.
