“What I’ve Done" is a song written and recorded by Linkin Park. It was released in 2007 and was used for the end credits of the Blockbuster film ‘Transformers’. The song has been described by the band as their way of showing how the band have changed from their previous efforts. In terms of the songwriting, this is notable by the rawer elements of guitar and drums (less processing), the absence of rap vocals and how the vocals are not over produced.
This arrangement of the song is in the key of Bb minor, which is the key the band play in with Emily Armstrong singing (suitable for female vocals). The arrangement features all the core elements, minus the outro backing vocals (this could be an opportunity to check if students are home studying this song, and request to add the part in!).
You can be creative with the drums in the intro. Although noted on the high-hat and ride, this is usually percussive sounds created by hitting the hardware/stands of the drum kit!
