It was released in 2007 and was used for the end credits of the Blockbuster film ‘Transformers’. The song has been described by the band as their way of showing how the band have changed from their previous efforts. In terms of the songwriting, this is notable by the rawer elements of guitar and drums (less processing), the absence of rap vocals and how the vocals are not over produced.
This arrangement of the song is made for senior school rock bands in mind, in the key that Chester would have originally sung it in. The arrangement features all the core elements, minus the outro backing vocals (this could be an opportunity to check if students are home studying this song, and request to add the part in!).
You can be creative with the drums in the intro. Although noted on the high-hat and ride, this is usually percussive sounds created by hitting the hardware/stands of the drum kit!
