The style echoes an old-time noir detective movie but also includes swing, bebop, and a classical-style ending. The piece also features a speech-like "dialogue" between tenor sax, trombone, and trumpet. Two audio samples are optionally used - a short movie clip and a siren (which can be chosen by the director), reflecting the action in the music. Flute is featured prominently, and there are several solos. Trumpet range is up to E6.
