Waltzing Matilda is a traditional ballad "Waltzing Matilda," a poem by Banjo Paterson. It was first recorded 30 years after it was written in 1895. The melody of the song is attributed to Christina Macpherson, whose family owned the property Dagworth Station near Winton in Queensland, where Paterson was staying when he composed the poem. I have always thought this song should be part of our National Anthem and have arranged this for SATB and Piano in a traditional format paying tribute to the original melody. The song is very popular today and I hope you appreciate the nice "jazz" style harmonies and the chords I have used. There is a surprise "canon" at the end for all the jazz lovers too.
