TTBB choir, organ with soprano voice solo, oboe or flute solo - Medium

SKU: PL.9210

Composed by Randall Giles. Cathedral. Choral, Christmas, Evensong. Octavo. Paraclete Press #9210. Published by Paraclete Press (PL.9210).

Randall Giles' setting of this famous text from the II Vespers of the Nativity of Our Lord has great strength as a work for four-part men's chorus. Giles has written a descant for soprano, lending an angelic presence to the texture. An oboe or flute may also be used for the descant to create a different translucent color.

Verbum caro factum est is. . .soberly effective - Organists Review
The work of Randall Giles is particularly impressive. Verbum caro factum est...is haunting...The effect is fresh and perfectly suited to the mystical nature of the text. - Journal of the Royal Canadian College of Organists
Verbum caro factum est is well written and highly adaptable...A good addition to music for men's voices. - "Cross-Accent - the Journal of the Association of Lutheran Church Musicians".
