The "Variations on a Hungarian Children Song" was an improvisation that I once played at the end of a concert. It was fun and the audience seemed to enjoy it; so, I later decided to write it down and use it as an encore. The "Variations" are the kind of music musicians love the most: they are easy to play but sound really difficult. This makes the piece ideal as a final offering for recitals or concerts. I would additionally suggest playing the 5th Variation with one finger, which can be a real audience pleaser. Good luck, and Enjoy!
