Composed by Don Bowyer (Sunway University). Contemporary. Score and parts. 5 pages. Dolphin Don's Music School #6434185. Published by Dolphin Don's Music School (A0.990151).

Unity was composed for the memorial service one week after a tragic campus shooting at the composer's university in 2010. The piece is meant to represent the raw emotions that permeated the campus that week, which are expressed through the insistent rhythms and raw sound of the trombone and percussion.

The audience is asked to participate by humming a unison pitch - D - starting soft and building to the end. This participation by the audience is meant to be a metaphor for the composer's realization that healing on campus would only be possible with the support of the community.

Both players should read from the score.
