Fanfare No. 1 was written for the Young Audiences Brass Quintet St. Louis as a short, brilliant opener for their concert. Fanfare No. 2 was written because of an insistent motif in my mind that demanded attention! A Carol was commissioned by the National Cathedral Choral Society of Washington, D.C.
