This delightful dance has been arranged for solo violin and piano. It is written in the original key of A Major and features fun turns and grace notes, double stops, and shifting above 3rd position for the violin. The piano part is a true accompaniment and does not double the melody throughout, although it has its own moments to shine. Theodore Akimenko was a Ukrainian composer, pianist, and musicologist in the late 1800s, with much of his music capturing the culture of his home country. This is an excellent piece for the advancing student!
