Es un pasillo lento, el cual propone una línea melódica fundamentada a partir de algunas células rítmicas distintivas de este aire tradicional andino colombiano. Dichas células rítmicas a su vez, van conformando sencillos motivos, los cuales se presentan de forma reiterada en cada una de las partes. Estos motivos están determinados y especificados de tal forma que guardan una sincronización justa y equilibrio, con los acentos naturales del ritmo tradicional del pasillo andino colombiano.
"Tríptico" hace referencia a la forma tradicional del pasillo colombiano, cuya estructura está compuesta por tres partes
(A - B - C) y que fue aportada y consolidada por Pedro Morales Pino (compositor Colombiano, considerado el padre de la música andina colombiana).
