Is your string orchestra looking for a challenge? This arrangement of Trepak from the Nutcracker Suite by Tchaikovsky is arranged for an intermediate-advanced string orchestra. The aim of this arrangement is to maintain Tchaikovsky’s work as original as possible but adapt it for a string orchestra. This piece will definitely be a crowd pleaser to end the Christmas concert! The Violin 1 part is sometimes in a2 and a3 divisi. The highest note played by the Violin 1 is a G6. The Violin 2 part is sometimes in a2 divisi and the highest note is a C6. The viola part is sometimes in a2 divisi and the highest note is an F#5. The Cello part is never divisi and goes up to a G4. The Double Bass part is sometimes in a2 divisi and its highest note is a G3. The Violin 1 and Violin 2 parts both include ‘quadruple stops’. The Violin 2, Viola, and Cello include ‘triple stops’. NOTE: multiple notes are to be played as double/tripe/quadruple stops unless noted with div. All parts include parts of the melody so that the arrangement is interesting for all sections.
