Published by Jon Thingvall (A0.1087280)."Toyland" is the second part of a Big Band medley I arranged for some friends. The first part was the classic "Snowfall", which I always loved when sung by Tony Bennett, and it will be available, too. They can each be played singly, or together, with the lush, drifting "Snowfall" ballad followed by the jazzy, joyous "Toyland" which always recalls Christmas mornings to me. Because both tunes begin with a descending Perfect 4th, I couldn't resist seeing how they'd work together. Although "Snowfall" has the woodwinds double on flutes, clars, bass clar, flugelhorn (solo), and the bass is played arco in some spots, "Toyland" is straight-ahead, standard big band (5,4,4).
