The score is presented in modern music writing. A tablature will be available, developed by Caroline Delume, the lutenist who has created this work. Commis-sioned by French Lute Society. <> (W. Hoogeverf, Les cahiers de la guitare .., No. 59, 1996). Tiento literally means grope. It is an ancient musical form, appeared in Spain in the XVIIth Century, which is based on a contrapuntal writing proceeding by imita-tions. The Tiento enables a perfect alliance of a strict form with a virtuosic composition.
