Shade (part) 1 is an up shuffle, Shade 2 is a ballad featuring Alto Sax, and Shade 3 is an up tempo straight ahead burner. The overall feel of the piece can best be described as "gritty". One of the nice things about this chart is that each section can be pulled out of the suite and be performed on its own, truly making this a versatile investment.
