This arrangement of the theme from the TV show Black Sails is for 3-6 octaves of handbells. It is a Level 3+ piece that is mostly swing while still having a sea shanty feel to it. The gyro technique evokes the sound of the hurdy-gurdy used in the original.
Black Sails is a TV show about pirates that blends historical pirates and characters from Robert Louis Stevenson's Treasure Island, becoming a prequel to that story.
This is a strong and aggressive piece that is very rhythmic and fun to perform. Most appropriate for community and school handbell choirs.
