A great book to start off your pedagogy collection

This is a very good albeit different book to the more hands-on technique books such as Practice, Basics and Carl Flesh scales etc. The contents may seem wordy and exercises too rudimentary at first glance, but Violin Lesson has very thorough yet concise (and sometimes philosophical & humorous) explanations. The exercises given are simple enough for beginners and intermediate students (ABRSM grades 1 to 5), and effective enough for them to produce near-instant results. Lots of case studies provided to address problems like posture, left hand, bow hold, tone, practice methods and musicality, which most students have. If you are student curious about Fischer's books, this is the book to start with. This is also a must for teachers.
