Begin The Sorcerer's Apprentice in a quiet and mysterious manner. At m. 16, the dramatic statement breaks the spell. Maintain a steady tempo from the allegro until two measures before the end. It is important to work for a full dynamic range in the orchestra from the piano in the bassoon solo at m. 23 to the vigorous brass statement of the melody at m. 59.
