While these arrangements can be performed as instrumentals, they were conceived as their hymns were intended: for congregational worship, and include lyrics for multiple verses. While some arrangements see the instruments primarily doubling the classic choral harmonies, others explore the unique colours of the instruments to embellish and enhance the traditional without distracting from the core of what makes these old hymns so great.
