The hornpipe a dance tune of Irish, Scottish and British origin done in hard shoes. It is suggested that this dance dates back to around the 16th century and began being performed on British sailing vessels. It may be written in 2/4 or 4/4 time and may often be written with dotted rhythm. My own arrangement is performed here in the key of D Major.
