Lovely piece
I agree with all of the previous reviewers - this is a lovely piece to sing, uplifting, contemplative without becoming maudlin, staid and dignified without being slow or dragging. I sang this is college in the early 80's and have hummed it often since. Just recently I ordered this piece to sing at my 50th birthday party with my choir friends. I'm looking forward to it.

A beatiful, reflective piece
This piece has become a classic. If you are looking for a toe tapping, high spirited number, this is NOT it.If you want an anthem that is reflective and refreshing, this IS it. Great piece for communion (about 6 minutes long). Most of the music is simple except for the evolving ending. The difficulty in the main work is having each section sound like one voice with proper accents and diminuendos. When I hear Randall Thompson, I think of his Alleluia piece. This would be the second piece to remember. Not cheap, but worth the price.
