Leslie Condon, before he became an officer in the Salvation Army, was a postman who attained several music diplomas from distinguished music establishments in conducting, arranging, musical knowledge and music harmony. He was for many years prior to his sudden death in 1983 an important and influential member of the International Music Editorial Department where his quality compositions were regularly published by the Salvation Army. The Manger Scene is a short setting of the beautiful 15thcentury German melody with which are associated the words 'Away in a manger'.
