This march is based on a woodwind-only piece I made in July 2023 under the name "The Independence of California" about a fictional uprising that took place in Stockton, California causing a 2nd Civil War in America leading to California's Independence.
I lost the file to that work 2 years ago. The 1st trio and end of the 2nd strain are taken from that piece. Another inspiration is 2 of my favorite Sousa Marches.
The Brass fanfare in the Intro and Brake Strain is similar to that of "The Minnesota March" and the end of the 1st strain is similar to that of "The University of Illinois"
I made this March for and to honor my girlfriend, "Melinna Josefina Márquez". I plan on making 14 marches about Melinna over the next couple of years and all 14 marches will follow the same format. March #1 was made for her Birthdate "December 20th 2008.
