The narrator begins the story which is soon continued by the choir as it builds to the triumphant "Hosannas!" The piece includes sections that may be sung by younger children as well as the older elementary children. Intended to be sung at the beginning of the service (Year B in the Lectionary cycles, but appropriate for any Palm Sunday), the piece ends quietly and reflectively.
