The Lark in the Clear Air is a beautiful love song, a combination of lyrics written in 1850 by Sir Samuel Ferguson, an Irish poet and lawyer, and a traditional Irish melody collected by his wife, Lady Mary Catherine Guinness Ferguson. This a cappella arrangement is for soprano, alto and bass/baritone singers and includes the score as well as the three parts in a total of 5 pages. It can be sung in firm rhythm, or with a looser flow. It is of intermediate difficulty and suitable for choral performances, especially for Celtic or romantic events, including weddings.
