This new arrangement for Intermediate Quartet of 3 Violins & Cello, of the much-loved traditional fiddle tune - The Flop Eared Mule - is a little gem and would be a great addition to the repertoire of any school or youth string ensemble. The first half is deliberately straight-forward and will sound pleasing if you have little rehearsal time, while the second half provides more of a challenge for those who want it.
If you have a mixed ability quartet and need a variety of different level parts, you can combine any of the parts from this Intermediate Quartet Arrangement, with parts from either the Advanced or Junior Quartet Arrangements if need be. (All parts will fit together between the different levels. E.g. you could combine 2 players reading from the Intermediate Quartet parts and 2 players reading from the Advanced/ Junior Quartet parts if you wish).
You can also find Play-Along videos for Open String parts on YouTube @PicknMixStrings, which will fit alongside this quartet arrangement - should anybody wish to do a combined performance with beginner string players - or even boomwhackers or rainbow bells - and this Intermediate Quartet.
