The Dawning Light (2015), commissioned and premiered by Lorelei Ensemble, uses as its text traditional songs and poems of the Inuit-Yupik (Eskimo) in anonymous English translations. Two outer vocalise (wordless) movements frame the five texted movements. The movements may also be performed individually or in any subset combinations.
