Heavy and ponderous at times, light and frisky at others, this march was used often in the circus to accompany tiger acts. An ominous introduction leads to a lumbering first strain, followed by a delightful contrasting, almost ragtime-like second strain. The trio features a wonderful melody with euphonium countermelody, in the style made so famous by King. The weighty breakstrain returns to a minor key feel, and then concludes with an embellished version of the trio. One of the march "King’s" very best! Immense!
