The Blues In Overdrive Big Band - Sheet Music
Little big band - Medium difficult

SKU: WA.60218

Composed by Frederick "Dave" Snider. Score and parts. Published by Walrus Music Publishing (WA.60218).

The Blues in Overdrive is just what it says and means, the blues played at a very challenging tempo, 270+= BPM, in a hard-bop style for mini-big band (LBB). Every section of the band is challenged both with written parts and solos over the blues at a very fast tempo. Featured solos are drums, trumpet, alto, and tenor, all who play a great Kansas City riff style on the head. Then it is open for solos. When the rhythm section keeps the tempo on the burning edge, it is very rewarding for all the musicians and the audience. I have used this chart in my band for over two years and it has been received enthusiastically by players and listeners. It is a great chart and can be used and an opener of closer. Medium/Difficult. Hard-Bop. Instrumentation: 2trumpets, 1trombone, A, T, B, G, P, B, D. Lead trumpet is a written A, a major 13t.
