Composed by Anthony Mancini. Text: The Roman Missal. Mass movements based on a very familiar hymn tune. Liturgy. Octavo. Published by CanticaNOVA Publications (C5.3142-2).

The full title, Eucharistic Acclamations & Lamb of God based on the hymn tune Thaxted, shows what you'll find in this volume. The composer, Msgr. Anthony Mancini, used the stately hymn tune called Thaxted as melodic material for his setting of the Sanctus, Memorial Acclamation (options A & B), Great Amen, and Lamb of God. The setting is for congregation and organ, with optional unison choir or cantor and optional trumpet. Parts for trumpet in C and B-flat are included with the music. Named for a town in Essex, England, the tune Thaxted comes from British composer Gustav Holst's musical suite, The Planets, where it is found as a major theme in the movement, Jupiter, the Bringer of Jollity. The tune is most popular in England along with the text, "I Vow to Thee, My Country." In the United States, it is found in several hymnals (including Worship - Third Edition) with the text, "O God, beyond All Praising." The music is one of the finest examples of a solemn hymn tune that we know.
