“Tantum ergo” is a sacred Latin hymn attributed to Saint Thomas Aquinas. It is traditionally sung during Eucharistic Adoration and forms part of the Liturgy of the Hours. French composer Déodat de Séverac created a beautiful arrangement for SATB choir (soprano, alto, tenor, bass). His harmonies evoke reverence and devotion, connecting contemporary worshippers to centuries of tradition. Through Séverac’s music, we honor both his artistic talent and the profound theological insights of Saint Thomas Aquinas.
