While it is difficult to find its origin, tango dance music probably began in the working class districts of Buenos Aires in the late 19th Century. Hollywood movies often turn to the tango at special moments, e.g. Scent of a Woman, True Lies, and Frida.

Why this fascination with the tango? Perhaps it is because the tango, more than any other popular dance, often tells a story. The resulting drama and ballet-like verve captivate dancers, musicians and audiences alike. There is nothing like a tango.
