I decided to arrange the first movement of Widor's Sixth Symphony because I deem of paramount importance that Band Directors start making the concert band repertoire more varied, so as to avoid what usually happens: concert/wind bands keep playing the same pieces over and over again, usually Tchaikovsky overtures, or Wagnerian overtures. Namely, I think that the various textures this arrangement, when properly played, provides, will make for a very interesting piece.
