Symphony N° 2: The Golden Age is a commentary - sometimes ironic - on the contemporary human condition comparedwith that described by theGreek poet Hesiod as the Golden Age, when humankind lived peacefully with the gods. The music poses profound existential questions over the meaning of life. In the first section the great mystery ofexistence is addressed. In part two we seehumankind lost in its own thoughts and self-made illusions. The third part shows the intangibles such as love, beauty and the sublime, but also the struggles that bind inextricably tothem. The fourth part brings this all together in a rousingfinale.
