Original anthem Allen Pote has written this anthem in memory of his brother who recently died. Using the familiar scriptural passage from Isaiah, which foreshadows the suffering of Jesus, he has chosen a haunting melody in F minor to poignantly express the text. With a pulsating rhythm, this tone painting moves toward the climax - "and by his suffering, we are healed", which resolves by the use of a major chord. This dramatic and powerful piece is ideal for any Holy Week service.
