This is a beautiful work. It describes a sunrise over a mountain range overlooking the Mojave River. The beautiful opening melody in the cello sets the mood for the rest of the music. Pizzicato strings and flowing woodwind passages gives the feeling of gentle rippling water gently drifting towards shore. It ends peacefully with an orchestral tutti of long held notes. .
