Choral Choir (SATB divisi) - Level 3 - Digital Download
By Bryan Adams. By Bryan Adams and Jim Vallance. Arranged by Erin Craig. A Cappella,Contemporary,Pop. Octavo. 10 pages. Erin Craig #4575997. Published by Erin Craig (A0.888144).
This is an accessible a cappella arrangement of Bryan Adams' hit "Summer of '69". The vocal lines are harmonically intuitive, and singers will enjoy switching between singing the lyrics, and singing fun non-lexical sounds of a backup band. This is a great piece to learn and refine a cappella singing and intonation, as the harmonies and voice-leading are intuitive. A piano reduction is included for rehearsal purposes.
The rhythms are accessible, and there is minimal divisi - only about 8 measures in the soprano line. If you have a small choir, or a choir without evenly balanced sections, this would be a satisfying piece to work on with them.
This would work well for a beginning vocal jazz ensemble, or an intermediate SATB choir, and could easily start or end a concert.
