This work is a suite of some of the earliest ideas and melodies that Ryan ever had as a composer, hence the title, "Suite of Beginnings". In fact, the simple melody you hear in the first movement is the first melody that the composer ever came up with. The other movements are other ideas from the composer's early career sitting at a piano and making things up, as well as messing around with music producing software. These ideas were recalled and arranged into this suite for clarinet and piano and were performed at Brigham Young University-Idaho during the Spring 2023 semester. Since then, the piece has since been polished and revised.
