This is an original work, a set of variations for string quartet. (Duration ~13 minutes). It offers primarily tonal melodic and sophisticated contrapuntal writing with a good mix of quartal harmony and various modes. The middle slow section is intense and should be an audience favorite. This work would be great for a skilled student group (challenges are rhythm and range (esp for cello), but not prohibitive), and will work well in professional quartet programs.
