Aside from being a great piece to program, this new chart has a wealth of ways built into it to help you teach blues form and improvisation. This composition is sequenced and developed through each 12-bar chorus using the six scale steps of the Bb blues scale as the foundation. The solo section opens up for any and all wind players to use the blues scale patterns from the first five choruses as the basis for their improvisation.
