Richard Bowden also known as RB is a Jazz saxophonist who produces music that captivates listeners with alluring melodies and rhythms. Stylistically, he fuses Jazz with a Hip-Hop/Trap music feel. Many Jazz artists of the 1940s, ‘50s, and ’60s influenced Richard. However, Richard’s favorite composer and arranger was the late great Wayne Shorter. Richard admired Shorter’s use of simple melodies linked together with thoughtful and colorful harmonies. Richard grew up listening to many R&B, Funk, Pop, and Hip-Hop producers from the 1970s to now. What inspired Richard to produce his 1st Trap/Jazz single, “Speak Life” was a younger producer, Metro Boomin. Richard expressed, “When he listens to his music, his beats spark the nostalgia of an HBCU drumline and the harmonies on top are a deep, dark, underwater sea of emotion. Richard intends to couple Jazz with Trap to give listeners an option when they want to take a break from the obscenities.
