小提琴奏鳴曲 Sonata for violin and piano Violin Solo - Digital Sheet Music

This piece was composed between 1963 and 1964. It is one of the three works I created when I was still a student at the National Taiwan Academy of the Arts (formerly the National Taiwan University of the Arts), and also the most significant one among the three. The Violin Sonata was an attempt I made upon my graduation, when I decided to abandon the functional harmony of the western traditional major-minor system, in order to explore a personal musical language.

The piece comprises three movements, like a sonata in the classical period. The idea of constructing its harmonic vocabulary comes from the traditional tuning of the pipa.

First Movement: Introduction -- Allegretto with four stages of opening, elucidating, developing and concluding.
Second Movement: Intoning Poem (Adagio)
Third Movement: Rondo (Allegro)

This piece was completed in 1964 and premiered at the International House of Taipei, by violinist Lu Hsin-ye and pianist Hsu Tzu-chen.
小提琴奏鳴曲
這首曲子完成於1963-4年之間，是作曲者藝專學生時代所留下來的三首作品之一，也是這三首作品中，對作曲者而言最具意義的一首。因為這是結束學生時代為探討個人的音樂語法，企圖放棄西方傳統大小調功能和聲體系，所做另類的嘗試。
全曲共分三個樂章，類似古典時期奏鳴曲形式，和聲結構觀念來自傳統琵琶定弦，所延伸的和聲結構體系，並加以發展。
第一樂章：序曲與起承轉合的小快板。
第二樂章：如吟誦的慢板詩曲。
第三樂章：快板的迴旋曲。
