A massive collection of material for concert and study, this Alan Raph devised collection includes many titles that are on the New York State and Texas required Music Lists. It will take the young trombonist from grade two materials to grade five level performance pieces. Raph has culled the solo literature to identify pieces by the masters from Arne, Bach, Corelli, Telemann and Mozart to Brahms, Rachmaninoff, Debussy and Gliere that can be adapted for Trombone, and the result is a collection that will fill a definite need. Familiar titles include: Bist du bei mir (J.S. Bach), Waltz (Brahms), Sicilienne (Faure), Solvejg's Song (Grieg), Liebestraum (Lizst), Traumerei (Schumann) and two classic Arthur Pryor solos originally written for Trombone: Thoughts Of Love and Fantastic Polka. (Trombone and Piano - 144pp., Trombone solo part 56pp.).

Be Warned! You may receive the older edition.
If you can get the newer 42 solos edition, it is fine. However, I have tried twice to order it, but have received only the older edition (44 solos) which has harder arrangements and some different selections edited by Alan Raph. I had to return it twice and have not tried again to order it. The web display shows the picture of the old edition but describes the new edition. It makes me wonder if the publisher is attempting to dump old stock using the bait and switch tactic.
