In 'Singe die Gärten mein Herz...' (1974) a section of the melodic infinity series is used as material, the overtones of which are then released in the musical movement, rhythmically designed based on the proportions of the golden ratio 2:3. The course of the work is shaped as a process, where each musical moment simultaneously contains a remnant of the past and a glimpse of the future - based on the overall view that is summarized in the Rilke sonnet 'Fühl, dass der ganze, der rühmliche Teppisch gemeint ist'. With this realization of collective human will, 'Singe die Gärten mein Herz...' was further included as a natural ending in the composer's great Third Symphony (1972-75).
