Published by Nicolas Matherne (A0.1654315).This is my composition Shifty Figures, arranged for a standard jazz band. It's a laid back minor blues in F minor, making it an excellent vehicle for students to improvise on. There are demo solos included in the midi audio included, however the full score will have open solo space for Trumpet 2 and Tenor 1 w/o written solos. These parts also have a duet on the main melody, with trumpet 2 using a harmon mute. This arrangement also sports a fair share of ensemble passages, a sax soli with a style change to shuffle to increase excitment, and as well as large tutti climax for the piece as a whole. Instrumentation limitations are minimal, however trumpet harmon mutes and a bass trombonist will be required. Lead trumpet tops out at concert C above the staff with an optional Eb above that, and lead trombone tops out at Ab above the staff.
