The simplicity of the lyrical music belies a complex structure of multiple changes in time-signatures, which require great accuracy on the part of the arranger in writing an arrangement.

However, this should not present a problem to the pianist if a steady pulse is maintained, assisted by the slow tempo of the music.

The original music provided a wonderful background to the story of romance and love that blossomed between the English writer C.S. Lewis and his close friend, Joy Davidman, tragically cut short by her early death.
