By Various ArtistsI've been writing arrangements for over 10 years for my own string quartet. My priorities are accurate rhythm of vocal melodies and correctly notated instrumental solos. This arrangement was first written in haste for a wedding where I was supposed to be playing the digital piano with a string trio but it had not been confirmed how we were going to access electicity! Most arrangements of this piece have the repeating quavers in the cello part but this looses the sustained bass that you get from playing the piece with the piano. This was the reason I put this an octave higher in the 2nd violin part. I have had a number of comments from string players who have played this arrangement saying it's the best sounding version they've played.
