Composed by Johann Strauss Sr. Arranged by Albert Schwarzmann. This edition: audio, pdf. 19th Century, Romantic Period. 49 pages. Edition Schwalbe #1132344. Published by Edition Schwalbe (A0.1560111).

Seufzer Galopp (Sigh Gallop) appeared first time in print in 1828. It was written during the years before, in which Johann Strauss I and Joseph Lanner competed with each otheras at the head of their own bands. As a joke orchestra musicians often sigh theatrically during the bars 35 to 38 before continuing to the coda. The arrangement is one half tone higher than the original key of the composition for symphony orchestra and was commissioned and first time performed by Mozarteum Wind Philharmonic Salzburg conducted by Hansjoerg Angerer at their "Three Kings' Concert" on 6 January 2013 at the "Grosses Festspielhaus" (Large Festival Hall) in Salzburg, Austria and broadcasted live by Austrian television.
